So it’s been a while, quite a while, nearly 3 years in fact since I blogged properly; in the guise of ‘Happy Food’. Whilst the blog morphed into the business, the moniker stayed, admittedly only on Twitter but I’m there as @happy_food.
Life over the last 3 years has been manic – I’ve opened a successful business, I’ve become an Auntie, I’ve become a Mrs, and now I’ve decided to return to blogging… Welcome to Crumbs and Corkscrews!
Crumbs and Corkscrews is (hopefully) a food, drink and lifestyle blog written by me, Louise Carruthers (and in a previous life, Land – I married Ian in October 2012). I’m the self-confessed Cupcake Queen of the Cotswolds, lover of good food and drink, wannabee fashionista, with a little geek thrown in for good measure!
Crumbs and Corkscrews is a sort of reincarnation of the original Happy Food blog, which I started writing in 2008 about the progress I was making with my Brother’s wedding cake. Things turn a turn for the slightly chaotic and the blog turned into Cirencester Cupcakes, my small bakery in the Cotswolds. Over the years, we’ve been on TV, made cakes for Royalty, won awards and met some fabulous people. My life has been one cake-whirlwind, that I decided to take a journey back to my blogging roots….
For those of you, who don’t know me – in a nutshell, I live in the beautiful Cotswolds, with Ian, my now husband. I’m a self-taught baker and a very amateur photographer. I studied Human Psychology at Aston University, in Birmingham, and before my redundancy was a Research Psychologist. My research area was/is performance under pressure…… Handy in a busy bakery!
So here we go, happy Reading!
